We've arrived to Roatan!!!

All sorts of excitement today! Arriving in Roatan, off the coast of Honduras, this beautiful gem of an Island awaited us and some zip-lining adventures too! We did a Yolo fun day, signed up for the zipping through the trees experience again. I loved it in Belize, and this time we get to to about 20 or so zip lines.

The only kink in our day was that last night we had to work the night before and stayed up till4am. Then we got up at 7ish...Not alot of sleep. But excitement is good for this. Except I was really cranky for about an hour until we started flying through the trees!!


We subsequently ditched the tour after the zip-lining, and found a driver who took us to a locals spot for a lunch break. Tried the local beer here, Salvavida , along with some conch ceviche and mahi with local potatoes. So delicious. I wanted to stay there forever. After some more beers we wandered off in search of a market to buy some spicy sauces that we keep enjoying with our food. Oh, and another hammock for the collection. And of course I had to have a purse, and so on. A nice dip in the ocean ensued. It was so nice and hot, and I mean hot, and you just wanted to throw yourself into the ocean!!

Belize the second time around

Ahh. Belize we missed you. It felt good to be back. I mean, we knew we could have gone straight to Caye Caulker again and try to find our 'ol friend Bobby, but for the sake of trying something new we are doing this Mayan Cave-Zip Lining adventure.

We headed about an hour inland from Belize City arriving onto this post in the middle of the jungle, where we were promptly served lunch and then it was off to the caves. We were excited, about heading out for the first time with the guests on the ship but never a dull moment- most of the jokes in this group are rated X! There is no filter-I loved listening to all of it! I could not even repeat some of the things we heard. Ahh swingers, such a fun fun lot.

Our only mission at the end of the day was to have as many Belikins as possible. I say we did a good job at that. We found some locals who bought us some for the 'locals' price, met up with some people from the ship, lost them, went to grab us some food from a little stand, and down more Belikins. Ahh refreshing. Ran back to the ship. Now I also own a Belikin t-shirt!! ( I was very excited by this) must stop buying silly knickknacks.

We ate at this restaurant, its a locals spot. Get the bus ( it stops frequently and randomly on both sides of the road-and tell the driver to drop you off here, you won't regret it. Affordable and close to the docks if you need to get back to a cruise ship. Well, a couple of blocks but its really not that far that you should miss out. Check out the bread made into animal shapes.








Headed into Grand Cayman Island, and it was nice and hot. The walk along the main street to seven mile beach was pebbled with yelps of "look out!" , not realizing the cars drive on the left! Once that was was on to beach in search of the local brew, fish, and some water to paddle around in.
Seven Mile Beach. Beautiful colored water. Its the palest shade of blue. You just gently lower yourself in it, it covers over you, softly. No waves. White sand. If you walk down the beach, eventually, you'll run into a white restaurant right on the beach. Called The Beach Club.If you're looking for water/beverages this is a good place to get them. Also internet. It was a large shop with a souvenir section, an internet room and outdoor bar-the woman who ran the register was extremely gracious and gave us local currency to take back.

So I caught some rays, and ate ALOT of food, most of it good. This ship did have a beautiful exercise room, and I did bring my sneaks, but I never made it over there. I spent most deck hours sunning and watching all the nakedness around me. Full nudity allowed at all pool areas. Made for some great people watching-believe it.

YOLO Lifestyles Cruises needed a few 'playroom attendants' for their first ever Lifestyle cruise, and I jumped aboard. Oh yes, the free cruise and pay and travel for a week helped my decision along, and also the fact that I just finished school for the semester and I was free to go.
